Serbia Job Opportunities

Many people in search of an adequate job do not shy away from retraining and post-qualification, and even from moving to countries other than their homelands. This applies to both, people from Serbia and foreigners willing to move to any country. What would be a perfect job for you in Serbia and what are the ideal Serbian job opportunities?

Jobs in Serbia

When it comes to jobs in Serbia, the offer is diverse and people of different occupations and professions are sought. It could be said, that only those who aren’t looking for a job will not actually find the one, especially when talking about finding jobs in  Belgrade. However, many factors influence a decision of taking an employment. Some of Serbian job opportunities are better paid and offer more decent working conditions than others, so they are logically more attractive, but they carry the risk of stronger competition. On the other hand, craft jobs are always sought, but there is a lack of this kind of workforce in Serbia, regardless of the pay level and working conditions.

Although we all yearn for an ideal job that involves working in a position for which we are talented, educated and skilled, adequately financially rewarded and that provides other personal satisfactions, many still satisfy with good (or any) Serbian job opportunity, which would imply that a job provides them with such  kind of existence and future, and does not conflict with their life, working and other rights and beliefs.

Serbian job opportunities

Few can talk about any kind of security in today's time, but it is certain that there are jobs that are better paid, and this is why they are considered as higher-level Serbian job opportunities. Some of the most paid and sought jobs, believed as potentially ideal Serbian job opportunities, are certainly those in ICT sector, as well as in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Aviation, Finance, Advertising, Market Research, ...

If you are ready for high quality Serbian job opportunities, there exist various employment fairs, as well as hiring and head-hunting sites. What is most important when applying for a job is to have positive attitude and strong confidence, to give a good first impression to a potential employer who will recognize your qualities and then be able to utilize your skills and abilities during work.

Jobs in Belgrade Serbia

When it comes to jobs in Belgrade, as the biggest city in the country - the assumption is that job opportunities are greatest here, but not quite necessarily! Some analyses suggest that it is even easier to find job in the regions of Western Serbia and Vojvodina, since the labor market in Belgrade is quite large and the competition is great, while in smaller cities this, actually, is not the case.

Some of the most desirable employers in Belgrade Serbia, as well as in other Serbian cities, are foreign-owned or multinational companies. They are generally assessed as those who offer better working conditions and better paid jobs, but above all - better working environment and interpersonal relationships, comparing to domestic private or state-owned companies. Foreign-owned firms mostly have clearer organization and more organized hierarchy. Jobs are divided according to different sectors and it is precisely determined what are every employee's duties and responsibilities. Another advantage of working in foreign-owned companies is a fact that career promotions, various incentives and rewards, are enabled.

Jobs in Serbia for foreigners

When talking about jobs in Serbia, and especially in Belgrade, multinational companies which open representative offices here are becoming increasingly popular. The attractiveness of a particular company depends on many factors, and in addition to the aforementioned desirable conditions of employment - safe workplace environment and good treatment of employees by management, as well as the status and reputation of a company, significantly affect company's popularity and demand for jobs.

Foreign-owned companies mainly bring managers from home countries to take leading positions in Serbia, so there is a better chance for highly-skilled foreigners to take high-level jobs in Serbia, and all those foreigners with secondary education can look for jobs in catering and trade industry, provided that employers could not find adequate labor in the domestic market. However, jobs in Serbia for foreigners also have certain legal restrictions and obligations.

If a foreigner wants to be employed in Serbia, he/she must have a temporary or permanent residence permit and work permit as well. As far as the work permit is concerned, jobs in Serbia for foreigners require work permit for self-employment (personal work permit) or a work permit for employment. In both cases, an alien can only perform jobs for which he/she has been granted a permit. Personal work permit can be issued to a foreigner who has permanent residence in the country, a refugee status or a person seeking asylum or a certain type of protection. This type of work permit is also granted in case of family reunion, providing the possibility for self-employment or free employment for given jobs in Serbia. The second type of work permit is issued on the basis of employer's request for employment of a foreigner who has a temporary residence in Serbia for a period not longer than the duration of stay, with the possibility of extending the permit. In any case, foreigner with a permanent or temporary residence has same rights, duties and obligations as any other employee of the same company!
